A Little Thanks Goes a Long Way

As you head to the beach and celebrate the start of the summer season with your family and friends for Memorial Day weekend, take a moment to pay tribute to the men and women who served and their families.

Every year over 228,000 flags are placed in front of headstones at Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate our fallen soldiers and their family members. People from all across the United States make their way to Washington D.C. to honor and pay their respects to those who served.

If you can’t make it out to D.C. this weekend, here are some other ways you can show your gratitude:

  •  Attend Memorial Day Parades in your city
    • Watch as hundreds of people march alongside of each other in remembrance
  • Thank a veteran
    • If you see a veteran on the street, take a moment to shake a hand and thank them for their service. This may seem like a small gesture to you  but it could make their day!
  • Volunteer
    • Find some local charities that support our troops and get involved!

Memorial Day should be a day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. They deserve to be honored in the best way possible, so as you head out this weekend take a moment to show your appreciation.
